Run the Gauntlet, 5k Run

Run the 5k (3.1 miles) Gauntlet Saturday 4-21-2018 at 8 am.

The objective of this run is to complete the course without being hit by a water balloon. Over the 3.1 mile course there are 3 zones, each zone is 50 yards in length and 20 yards wide. Volunteers with hurl water balloons at the runners. If and when runner is hit by a water balloon the runner is penalized. At the end of each zone there is a penalty box. In the box the runner will have a choice of 15 pushups or 25 jumping jacks for each time they were hit and the balloon busted. The runner must complete the penalty before proceeding.

Example, the runner was hit 2 times in a zone and each time the balloon busted the runner would need to do 30 pushups or 50 jumping jacks in the penalty box before proceeding with the run.

The runner who finishes the run without being penalized will have bragging rights (no cash prizes). The run is not being timed and placement will not be awarded.

Do you think you have what it takes? Can you Duck, Dive and Dodge your friends, neighbors, and community volunteers hurling water balloons at you in a defined area. If so, please join in the fun and heart pounding thrill of the first ever 5K Shad Festival Gauntlet Fun Run.
